A Little Bit About Me: Ask Me Questions
My name is Darrin Caldwell. I started fly fishing when I was about 8 years old; I still remember my first little rod and reel my dad bought me for Christmas. Ever since then, fly fishing has become a passion of mine, that I hope to pass on to my children.
I grew up fishing on the Provo River in Midway, Utah. It was on this beautiful river that I learned the basics of fly fishing and truly grew to love this amazing sport. Over the years, I think I knew each and every current, eddie, and hole along that middle Provo.
On occasion my father would take me up to the Big Horn River in Montana. I still remember how cold that river was when I fell in, and how slimy that big, fat sucker fish was when I snagged it by the tail. I also took many trips with my dear friend, Terry Edwards. We would head up to the West Fork River (or one of the other many streams or lakes that Terry knew like the back of his hand) in Utah for the whole day! It was also Terry who taught me how to tie my own flies, and know I can't remember the last time I bought a fly.
These fly fishing trips & experiences with my father and my friends are some of the most cherished memories in my life. I hope that through this website we all can share some of the fly fishing experiences that we have had, and perhaps inspire others around us to start great fly fishing memories of their own.
